There is also a group in the San Antonio (Texas) area that offers scuba certification for injured soldiers through the "wounded warriors" program. Ask around in the "Texas Swamp Divers" forum here on SB (Mack, from Oak Hill Scuba, knows the contacts for the program). The divers do their open water dives at Aquarena Center in San Marcos, Texas.
