Just wondering if someone could give me a job description for this position??? I've been looking around and from what I can tell it seems to be an overglorified title for a head aquarium divers. I was hoping to find a different career path with a title like that. :D

Lots of universities seem to have these. Man, if you can score one of these babies, you are set for life. It would help to have all of the following current ALL of the time, since these sinecures only surface rarely:
Instructor
All the life saving/life guard stuff
CPR
First aid
marine mechanical skills, i.e., small boat engine/compressor certification <--- documentation is the key thing here!
at least a collitch degree - the more, the better.

Good luck with that - that's a nice 30-year career.

Sweet.. Thanks for the info. Thinking about going this route for a career.

Cheers!

Dive Safety Officer? At a university? Man, that sounds like a 20K a year gig (here in North Jersey that means you're living with mom and dad forever) , but hopefully I'm wrong.
