I'm a Fish!
We visit Egypt several times each year for diving and have just returned from Sharm in the last week. Whats new in the sea this year - Banana inflateable rides dragged by fast speedboats.
We were diving Temple Reef (1st day) whilst a speedboat constantly used the moored dive boats as an obstacle course for the rides -this is a diver fatality waiting to happen. I was bloody furious that an idiot was putting us at risk.
We also saw these rides up at Sharks bay as well, buzzing within 50 metres of the shore. There's far too many divers and snorkellers in the waters around Sharm for speedboats. If the CDWS is worth anything-then this must be banned or at the very least an exclusion zone set up around dive sites before someone is killed.

Knew a guy once that carried little flares. He would surface ....fire a flare their direction...dive...and they would def leave.

Sorry that you had such a bad experience and yes I totally agree with you. CDWS should either do its job or quit.

The latter would probably be more beneficial for the entire industry.

some years back I heard of similar sort of accident by a jet-ski ripping a swimmer head off on the north coat near Alexandria :shakehead:
