it seems that there is the idea to allow finning sharks again in Palau. There is a petition against it:

I just wonder how well the US government would respond to a petition signed by citizens of other countries? Even though we already know the answer to that, I signed it anyway.

How far do you think it would go if the people of Palau put up a petition to stop Americans from hunting deer? We usually only eat the backstraps and hams and the rest is dog or possum food. What a laffer.

Lets all do our part. There are signs that small victories are being won in this fight. Recently, it's been found that young Chinese in Canada have been put off from eating shark fin soup after some high-profile campaigns.
