It really depends where I am going - but my rule of thumb is $100 per day for 2 people. That includes extra stuff like water bottles, etc. That isn't much, I know, but most places we go we have breakfast included or we are only catching something quick before heading back out to dive. We usually only do 1 or 2 nights of fancy dinners. I use this $100 per day in planning including travel days too as we end up eating at airports. Of course, if you are doing a liveaboard or an all-inclusive, that doesn't count...;) when I am planning our trips, I do add in cost of food into my "cost per dive" analysis for a location. Some places diving is cheap but hotel or food are high, other places it is the opposite... so you have to add everything in to figure out what a trip will cost. robin:D bigbertha22 July 1st, 2009, 11:27 PM Where can I eat cheaply on bora bora NorthWoodsDiver July 1st, 2009, 11:45 PM I tried to budget $20 a day for mexico but it ended up being more like $30 (per person) but one night my meal was $80 and other days I ate for $10 or less. it depends on what you like and if you drink alcohol. I'm not a breakfast kinda person so that helps keep the cost down. DandyDon July 2nd, 2009, 03:21 AM $100 per day for 2 people. Wow! Ur poor folks gots poor way. If my food & drink costs go over $25 a day, I start hitting the grocery for room supplies.
