Cocos Island, Costa Rica famous for its' sharks, especially its' large schools of scalloped hammerheads has been nominated to become one of the new7wonders of nature. If it wins, the awareness will help lead to better conservation efforts including enforcing the ban on fishing/shark finning which although illegal in Cocos still occur on a regular basis. Vote for Cocos! Voting is only open until July 7, 2009 and the winners will be announced July 21, 2009.
