It was a nice day to go diving. I arrived at the quarry somewhere around 11:30am...I was hungry as I hadn't ate yet...much to my dismay, the food hut was closed. Of course just now I remember Tina having a vending machine as I type this. That would have been nice at the time.

I relaxed for a couple two tree minutes before starting to get geared up. Couple firsts for me today:

1) First solo dive on my rebreather.
2) First use of the P-Valve.

I dont know which one was more nerve racking.

After I relaxed I got ready and in the water, went in on the road as I like to do. Descended just south of the road by the wall..near Artifact Park and starting going South with the wall.

Did a quick bubble check at 20ft or so and off I went. Had my High setpoint set to change over at 39ft to 1.1 PPO2. Once it did that and stabilized I gave the unit a couple hits of O2 and watched it go up to 1.3 PO2, so cells were looking good. I continued on my way, passing the first dock, then the second one, staying around 45-50ft.

Around 30-40 minutes I came up to the hole. Gave it a quick thought to descend over the edge and see just how deep the quarry is these days, but I didnt want to push it. I stayed at 45ft and swam around hugging hear the wall, but often glancing down.

Around 45 minutes, now traveling North with the east wall on my right...the miracle of the P-Valve was put to good use. Once I stopped grinning I continued on.

I hit the tricycle park not long after and decided to keep going North. Once it became apparent things were starting to get shallower I had a decision, stay at 45ft and go SW and look for the LARC, boat, or drain plug...or ascend above the 30 foot range.

I decided to ascend to 30ft and work my way over to the North shallow side of the quarry. Within a few minutes I found myself near the x-mas tree and then I knew exactly where I was. I continued West until I hit the rope, took that to the rock crusher..putzed around there, took the red rope to the other platform...more putzing around.

Around the 80 minute mark I started to get a little cold, water temp was lower 70's...so I should of been fine, however with no food in me I'm sure that had something to do with it. I decided to make it to 100 minutes, just because.

Cool notes:

102 minute dive, ~600psi of O2 used, ~500psi of Diluent used...(only because I suck still at changes in depth).

Computer throughout the whole dive told me I had 999 minutes left of no deco diving.

No dry mouth

Not so cool notes:

It doesn't save me a lot on my car insurance.

I didn't see one diver underwater the entire time. I was looking forward to going limp to see their reaction. :shakehead:
