Hey Guys.

New to here. Just signed up today.

Me and some friends from work are looking at Sharm mid sept. Bay View looks favourite so far with the dive centre on site.

2 of us are OW with only a few dives since and one is looking to do OW whilst there. We may do the AOW whilst there too.

Are we making a good choice with Bay View + Emporer? Any other suggestions?.
3 Lads going so would be looking for some night life as well. Is Naama the best place for this?

Cheers Guys.

Drew.

Naama bay is where the main jetty is located and has lots of restaurants and bars (including hard rock cafe), casinos and shopping.

As far as Bay view hotel and Emperor divers goes Ive been diving with Emperor twice during the past year and they run a very nice operation. I was also staying at Bay view and diving with emperor this april and it was quite nice.
The downside with Bay view is that there is no rooms with balcony there, but personally I dont care much about that. I will be going back there in august (Booked myself a CHEAP flight yesterday) and Ill be staying at Bay View and diving with emperor.

Bay view have a few bars, decent outdoor areas and its a fairly small hotel by egyptian standards. Its also located a couple of minutes walk from Hard Rock Cafe and the shopping and eating areas, which is a good thing. Walking distance to the busy places, walking distance away from them..

Naama Bay has a jetty but it's not the main. The main jetty is called Travco and is located in Sharm El Mina a couple of kilometers from Sharm's entrance gate. There's also another small jetty in Shark's Bay.

Travco would that be where the boats is also located over the night? Ive only gone out from there once, when I was headed for the Thistlegrom (which was a less than perfect day, but a learning experience)..

If so thats a bit of a ride from Emperor/Bay View

Yeah that's it. Anyway you don't need to choose an operator by the jetty and you don't need to use your hotel's operator either. Almost all operators offer free-of-charge transportation service (hotel-jetty-hotel).

Indeed they do. However Emperor provide a decent shop with nice staff, located at a hotel just outside of the busy part of naama bay - and i havent seen any russian dickheads using them yet (and theres plenty of those in sharm).
