oring storage - attached or bagged?

As a previous Nikonos V user, i'm really cautious with orings, lube, and care of my gear. I know the orings have changed over time, but i'm still very cautious with my Ikelite gear.

Should I store the orings in a ziplock bag between trips?

I bought a new housing oring and keep it in a ziplock bag labelled 'good'.
The oring that came with my new Ikelite housing, I remove and put into a ziplock labelled 'storage' when i'm prepping for a dive. I basically assume the oring that came with the housing has been on the housing for months. my concern is the oring is compressed and loses its shape, and thus more prone to leakage. so i install my 'good' oring for the dives and only use the original oring for storage/transport.

In between trips we do recommend storing the o-rings in a ziplock bag inside of the housing. I am not aware of any problems caused by the o-rings originally installed on our housings taking a set while on a shelf... Certainly not over a shorter time period. If you were buying a housing that had 12 layers of dust on top, I may be wary.
