This a poll to see how diver SAC rate compare to the diving community. Please use your computers last 5 dives to calculate average rate.
 
What is SAC rate? I never did understand that.
 
Surface Air Consumption

Basically, how much air you use - as a number in cubic feet / minute at the surface. Since gas consumption at depth is proportional to depth, and you know how much gas is in your tank, it's a useful tool to estimate how long you can stay at the bottom.
 
In the tropics my SCR is about 0.10 to 0.15 lower than in cold water. But I rarely dive on vacations so I put down my cold water average - 0.51- 0.60.
 
great input on cold water...It may be a factor...thanks for the input Gombessa.....please keep voting I would like to see larger sample..thanks to those who responded
 
my SAC has been abhorrent since i quit smoking
