i use a good quality gun oil like remoil or sigoil, but i work in a gun store so its what i have.
Nemrod recommended 30 weight non-detergent motor oil in their pneumatic spearguns and Mares use the same basic mechanism.
Gun oil is a bit light, but what is most important is that it be non detergent or else you will end up with foam inside the gun.

Contact Zak OHara the Mares Rep if Mares oil is available in the US.
Motorcycle 5-7wt fork oil is the safest to use for your gun if no Mares oil.
