Back from a few days in Key Largo. Stopped at Silent World Thursday on the way to the Ramada and checked in--took maybe 5 minutes. That way you can go straight to the boat in the morning. Unfortunately the weather on Saturday was tropical rain for most of the day and word had it that there was some serious bouncing around on Sunday. Silent World was quite pleasant and cooperative about issuing the appropriate credits back to my credit card.
I did learn something--just because your assigned buddy has a compass does not mean he has a clue how to use it. The extra swim back to the dive boat was a pain--but I did enjoy watching the sea turtle swimming below me (and at a better pace).
If you want some small, local and good places to eat try Mrs. Mac's (bay side around MM 98) or City Hall Cafe (on the left heading south at mile marker 85 give or take a few miles).
Stay safe.
