Wexford Coordinates????

Hi, all

I know this has been asked before, but I am planning to dive the Wexford this weekend in my own boat (I live less than 5 miles away:) ), but apparrantly, the winter has destroyed or moved the huge marker that had been placed there. Word is that there are a couple jugs holding the mooring line, but directions like "7 or 8 miles out from Grand Bend" prolly wont get me there.....GPS coordinates would save me a lot on gas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hope you have a good dive on the wexford let me know about the vis and how the dive goes I am considering doing the dive sometime this summer, I hope. I hope all goes well and you have a good time. I am heading up to kingston in July beginning of the month looking forward to diving there. later

I dove it with WetVet on Sunday. The co-ordinates were pretty bang on, thanks Tom R. Would be tough to find without them. Water was calm, vis was OK, about 10 feet outside the wreck and 15 feet inside. Still lots to see, seem the pilfering has stopped as there is alot of the stuff I say last year still there. Great wreck. Water was 46 F at depth.

Glad you had a good dive, I just dove the Frontenac, and found/reloctated five new wrecks this weekend, in the Kingston area.

Aw man. We were almost going to do it Sunday also. Had hoped to have my father-in-law run us down. He ended up with another commitment. Offered to let us (me) take his boat and go, but I've never driven it. I have driven a fair number of boats, including 45 foot lobster boats and asst outboards, but I've never driven a boat with a stern drive. I'm sure I could have sorted it out, but would have had to figure out all the controls, figure out his GPS and get it back in it's slip when we returned, without breaking anything. Somehow, I suspect the handling is just a little different on a 22' power boat than a 26' sail boat. :D Also did not want to leave it tied off, unattended.
Instead we did shore dives inGoderich, attempting to find the "bone yard". Not much luck, although I think we touched the edge of it near the end. Good dives though.

I found this site on diving around Goderich. Its a few years old and I don't know how accurate it is. It would seem to have future potential as a dive destination. I will be trying to locate the boneyard later this summer myself. If anyone has been there I'm sure a few of us would like to know just where it is.

We used to sail out of there and I am familiar with "the labour day wreck" although that's the first I've heard a name for it. If we could get 2 days in a row with no wonds or light winds from the NE through E to SE (offshore) we could motor/sail over the top and see the wreck clearly on the bottom.

I've never seen a float on it and there were no floats in the area off the arches when we've been there. I was thinking of trying to get a group together and we could do a line (rope) search for the boneyard.

I would certainly be interested in helping out. Any idea when you might be heading back up? My regular dive buddy would likely be up for it as well, as long as work doesn't get in the way.

Anyone know who the commercial operators are?

There is only one charter boat going out of Grand Bend to do the Wexford. It is a 6 pack or four with duals. I think he is booked up the next couple of weekends but you can reach Terry at Dive@Scubaquest.ca
