Hi Fellow Floridians!

My name is Caitlin, and I'm here representing the Protect Our Reefs program, which some of you may already be familiar with.

Protect Our Reefs is a program that raises money for coral reef research, education, and conservation through the sale of Protect Our Reefs specialty license plates.

Funds from the sale of the plate support Mote Marine Laboratory's coral reef research in Florida. In addition to Mote's programs, the revenue also supports grants available to other Florida-based non-profit organizations for reef-specific projects designed to protect and restore reefs and educate the public about their importance in the environment. Since its inception in 2003 the reef plate has raised $3.7 million specifically for coral reef research & conservation!

I noticed that a few years back there were some posts about divers supporting the license plate, and that really put a smile on my face. :)

If you have any questions about the plate and what it funds, I'd be more than happy to answer them. I look forward to getting to know everyone, and to anyone that has a Protect Our Reefs license plate on their car now - THANK YOU!!!

We appreciate it (and so do the reefs)!

Caitlin

P.S. Aside from all the wonderful projects that the plate funds, it's also the only license plate with a dive flag!

Need some help, Kaliber?

Actually it's less expensive to just let DMV pick a random set for you, Wiz and I had to pay extra for our personalized ones. It's a really pretty plate so if you aren't creative just get a random one.

But I'm willing to help you if you want to have a personalized one...I'm somewhat creative...

What's your first name? Mine is obviously a play on my ScubaBoard handle.

Wysmar, aka Wiz, is a Divemaster, hence DMWIZ.

How about DJKAL, KALDJ, DJDVR, DVRDJ?

I also like 33FSW...only a diver would get that one. It was my second choice if DBDVR wasn't available.

Here's my other car's plate:

This thread should help you with some ideas...

Once you come up with your choices check them here to see if they are available.
