Is it OK to use Vaseline or silicone grease on Ikelite O-rings?

It is a pain to travel with Ikelites non resealable; lube tubes. Was thinking of using Vaseline or silicone grease. Is this OK and if so which is preferred?

I know they want you to spend money to buy their stuff, but their stuff is crap when it comes to user friendliness.

Do not use vaseline ! It is a petroleum product and will react negatively with the o-ring material. Use silicone.

We only recommend using Ikelite silicone lubricant, which we provide with nearly every product we sell.

I keep opened tubes in a small plastic bag in case the lubricant were to come out of the tube accidentally.... Though I must say that dozens of different products that have leaked into my luggage over the years, but never our tubes of lubricant.

Some people choose to cut the tubes open and squeezed them into a small, closable containers.
