East Pass, Destin, FL panhandle

Pulau Kakaban, Indonesia. Sadly the area is being destroyed by dynamite fishing.

Tacoma Narrows passage. Daily tidal currents typically peak at about 4 knots there, but on a big exchange they can approach 7 knots.

Locally in Port Phillip Bay (Victoria, Australia), in the entrance to the bay (called 'The Rip'). Normally the tidal stream gets up to 6 knots but can get up to 9 knots in extreme conditions.

Somewhere north of Quadra island I had one 'drift' dive that almost felt like a free-fall. Within the area currents can be 20+ knots, so proper dive planning is as important as making sure your tank valve is open!

Colorado River.
