Got time for one more dive this year. Thinking of either Gilboa or Haigh. Any reports on water conditions for these two places. We don't dive dry so temp is important. Going this coming weekend Oct. 2,3,4. Thanks.

You'd be better off posting this to the Wrecking Crew forum......

You're going to find much better vis at Gilboa this time of the year. We were at Gilboa last week, vis was about 50'. Friday at Haigh the vis was *maybe* 10' and around 5' at the deep hole.

Go to the Central United States sub forum and click on GLWC. There will be someone on there that can give you this weekend's temps at Gilboa.

Haigh will be warmer. Two weeks ago, deep hole (80 feet) was in the 50's. Most of the quarry was mid 60's to70's. But like Street Doctor said, Gilboa will probably have better viz. Haigh's attractions are spread out more - which IMO makes it a little more fun. However, Gilboa has more stuff. Both are good places to dive.

Temperature in the deep hole thursday night- 79' was 46F, Gilboa was 44F @ the tubes (62') but the thermocline was at about 50', most of the stuff to see is above 50' and it was much warmer. Gilboa is definitely more tightly packed and for us at least it felt like we seen everything in an hour long dive. Haigh is a lot more spread out and challenges your navigation a bit more. Try it at night to make it even more challenging
