Do we really need a sealed regulator for wreck penetrations? would a SP MK25 be an acceptable reg? as long as it gets rinsed off after every dive would it work?

The Mk 25 will be fine.

I just prefer the Mk 17 and switched to them in preference to the Mk 25 a few years ago. The Mk 17 hose routing is also a lot cleaner with doubles.
