Cool Howard.... I suggested this a while back, but they didn't take action on it.
I'm glad to see you getting it done! Thanks!
Might I suggest to folks that the best way to access this on your PDA is to simply bookmark it after you get it entered in. that way you don't have to re-type it all the time.

My phone won't let me highlight the log-in portion so I could get on. I'm sure it is my phone.
here is a work around.
1.) goto the main URL scubaboard.com (http://www.scubaboard.com) and log in to the regular page. (click the "remember me" to stay logged in")
2.) afterwards, click to goto the mobile site.
If you can't click the pull down to get to the mobile site, then just click on this link. (Email it to yourself if you don't want to type it in.)
3.) Bookmark the "mobile skin" (or the above link) so you don't have to switch skins again
hope this is helpfull to all.

how about we turn off that "posted from mobile device" by default?
I mean who care's if you're posting mobile or not. Yeah it can be erased, but a pain in the ass to do on most mobile phones.
(or would you prefer I started a new thread about that?

Personalization of skins isn't something that we can do at this time. There is a new version of VB on the horizon and perhaps there will be some more focus on mobile skins then?
The one that we use, is the only decent one that I've found so far. We've already made several tweaks to this current one. Some info may be able to be integrated into it, but then if there's a major update it will take a lot of time to re-implement all of the changes so far. As a mobile user myself; I'd like to see a lot of changes made, but for now I just am patient with this new update to VB.

while you're looking at SB Mobile on it, see if you can figure out why threads don't refresh when you click on them again on a BB.
several of us are having this problem. (I think the BB might be the problem here, but maybe you can figure out how/what to do).

Yes, the threads don't refresh and keeps pulling up the previous version until you hit refresh. Would be great if it was automatic.

I don't know exactly how BB caches pages. I know that "back in the day" - I had to set my internet explorer to "check for new version of webpage" for refresh of a thread to work. I would have to assume that BB's cache the page, and don't realize that it's a newer version of that page?
It sounds like a BB Browser issue, and not one that I can correct with the style.
When googling Iris and BB, I found this article... so maybe it will get better?
Torch Mobile, makers of the Iris browser, acquired by RIM; web browsing on a BlackBerry to suck less (http://www.intomobile.com/2009/08/24/torch-mobile-makers-of-the-iris-mobile-browser-acquired-by-rim.html)

I think that's a default browser issue as well - on the touch pro.. It's opera. Opera doesn't like the mobile style, but works fine with the default style.
I've been using Iris Browser. It works nicely for SB mobile.

how do you set a default browser on the BB?

So... For now. It appears as though most the the major limitations with the mobile style are merely BB specific. Maybe in the not too distant future, when the BB Browser implements the positives from the Iris Browser it will behave more like a full featured web browser. I will also keep my eyes open for any major updates to the mobile style that I downloaded from a vb user group.
