Im going to be in Florida later in the month and will be assisting with check out dives for 2 divers. I was told Lake Denton is a good place. Is it still open? Is it a good place for check out dives? Is there a dive shop on site or nearby where we can rent tanks, gear and get air fills. We are staying in the Venice area. Are there any other options for check out dives. I know they are done at times off Venice Beach but I want to have a back up place in case of bad conditions.

We use Lake Denton Camp to access the lake. We give them a $10 donation per diver, and they let us dive. I'm sure there's a dive shop near by, but I don't have a clue where it's at.
