Please help with Fin sizing

Dear all,

I am about to get a pair of ScubaPro Jet Fins or XS Scuba Power Fins. They are not available at my LDS so I have to get them online. Would anyone please help me with the szing?

I will wear boots with the fins, not the rock boots, just regular dive boots (Beuchat boots to be exact). My boot size and normal street shoe size is male US 8, UK 7-1/2 or EU 41. What size of fins should I get?

In some of the online shop website, they list the fin size as something like this: Med (size 6-8). Does this size assume the user wearing boots or bare foot?

i'm in a same boat as you hongrace. i thought i'd buy a pair used until i saw in scubapro's site that the "L" I was going to buy used was sized 9-10. I was set for looking for size M but then I read that you may need to upgrade the size if you wear thicker booties. Granted I have 2mm and I'm still new to this (only 3 dives under my belt, more in the next couple of weeks to finish my PADI open water), I'm wondering when I'll ever have to get thicker booties and have to get new fins again. Are thicker booties going to move me to size 9?

Thanks for anyone that can help us on sizing (the numbers reflect with booties or without?).

I can only advise you on ScubaPro Jet Fins as these are the fins I own. :idk:

about XS Scuba Power Fins.

My above water street shoe size is US 8 and I'm female.

With Henderson booties (not rockboots), I wear large Jet Fins.

With size 7 rockboots, I wear XL Jet Fins.

The boots really matter. If they have thick soles it can make a huge difference.

I'm a mens 10 - 11 & use XL Jets and XL Slipstreams. But with an XS Scuba 7mm boot (thick sole, great boot) I can't fit in either fin.

It does suck, but the only way to be sure is to try them on with the boots you want to wear.

I'm a mens size 10. With my 5 mil booties with nice rigid sole, or my drysuit ( DUI CF200 with turbo soles, not rock boots ), Jet XL's are perfect. If I'm wearing a 3 mil thin bootie, the XL Jets are a bit sloppy.

All the online stores have a phone number you can call for advice. I'd give that a try. If they also sell the particular brand of boots you'll be using, they should be able to match up the sizes for you.

Of course, you should make sure the store allows for returns/swaps just in case, although I think they all do.

I've never done it, but I have heard of folks ordering multiple sizes of the same gear in one order, then returning the ones that didn't fit for a refund. At least that way you'll be reasonably assured of getting the right fit the first time. Again, you probably want to clear that with the store before you do it.

US men's size 8 get SP molded sole booties and XL jets. It will work. I'm a US 7 1/2 and it's what I have been using for years. The OMS Slipstreams are too big in the toe are and have a hinge feeling with the flutter kick. O.K. with the frog kick.

Please help with Fin sizing
