I am about to make my third trip to BVI for sailing and Diving, I have been to the Rone and many of the normal sites, I liked the Dogs. I have wanted to do the Chakuzen but weather and crew have not cooperated. If you could only dive 5 of the sites in BVI what order would you do them in, from best to just great? Is the Chakuzen worth getting a shop to take me?

Right now, my personal top 5 would probably be:

1. Santa Monica Rock
2. The Invisibles (off Necker Island)
3. Tow Rock (between the Dogs and Scrub Island)
4. The Visibles (off Cockroach Island)
5. Carval Rock

(2 and 3 don't have Mooring Balls on them, so you need a dive operator who is willing to either anchor or do live boat pick ups). All slightly off the beaten track, which is how I prefer it.

Chikuzen is a nice dive, but very weather dependent. Some days you just get lousy viz. I did it about four times over the summer, so I am a bit flat on it at the moment.

Ill be on my own boat, so if it is possible to anchor near by(in sand) I can do that or get dropped by dingy, then picked back up. (ill enter those into my gps and see if I can get em done.) maybe just bring an anchor for the dingy and take it down with me. (a little scary but possible)

I looked up your recommendations, seems you like the places in the middle of nothing. :D

You can definitely anchor in the sand adjacent to the Invisibles. On Tow Rock you would need to be pretty brave (it is a pretty shear pinnacle). I have never done it, but I have thought about it - I think I ever did it, I would take down a length of rope and tie-in the anchor to a coral head just to be safe. Long swim if the anchor doesn't hold.

All the others have National Parks marker bouys on them.

Give me a shout if you need any GPS coordinates or the like.
