Apt for rent near Lauderdale By The Sea?

I need a cheap place and LBTS would be great,
but I have a cat and I would like a little more space for my scuba gear!

I am looking in Pompano/Deerfield area, but not having much luck.
Seems that most places in a safe neighborhood start at $900. A tiny place is $700.

Anyone have a better suggestion?

I can't help you with LBTS, but if you're looking for a quick place to stay in Broward county to escape from Loxahatchee, the Holiday Park Hotel & Suites on West Hillsboro Boulevard has a $199 weekly rate. I don't know what their policy on pets is.
You can think of the area as DBBtTS&tH (Deerfield Beach Between the Tri-Rail Station and the Highway, if that helps.) Like Mr. Spock's name in Vulcan, humans cannot pronounce it.

Tom,
I got a place off East Atlantic, just before the intercoastal.
Seems to be a pretty safe, quiet neightborhood.
It is small at just under 700 SF but it is half the price of what I am paying now.
It is 20 minutes to work, but it is just a mile from the beach.
The back yard is just begin enough for my scooter rinse tank.

You only had to ask and I would have been there! Blue Heron is now 60 minutes each way instead of 30 minutes. Considering the photo ops and the people from Pompano that drive up there, it shouldn't be an issue to make the trip or catch a ride.
