Can you get out onto the Brit Battleships?

We can get on some of them! Some Battleships like the Goliath or Triumph lies in 80-90m depth and is on high channel traffic, but the HMS Majestic, Franco, German Battle Ship, Lundy, The Water Refinery Ship, Landing Boats and some old antique boats around Bozcaada Island we can dive.

G'day, I'm goin to be in Turkey for two weeks in May.

What can you suggest by way of a diving organisation for a days diving, pref on some wrecks (ordinary rec dive limits as I'm only bringing a set of basic regs with me and sadly will need to hire all other gear).

Thanks for your reply.

Cheers,

Andrew

I also dived with Saros Dive Centre. They were great but a little sketchy on giving directions until I was already at Gallipolli town, which was the wrong place to find them. They are based on the north side of the bay, about a 60km drive back the way I'd come from.

If anyone interested between May and September to dive in Gallipoli or Canakkale, just email me please and I can give you detailed information about where and to who to go. It is a small area and I have good friends who go regularly diving in the area to battleships and reefs. regards...

How long is a drive or a bus ride from Saros to Istanbul? Also, is there cheap accommodation in the area? I am an expat living in Istanbul but have only dived Kas so far. I have always wanted to check out saros. Do you operate every weekend and do you know any local clubs in Istanbul that commute out there that I might be able to go with?

Saros Bay is at the Aegean sea 3 hours away from Istanbul. I reccommend you http://www.atlantis-scuba.com/engindex.html , if you want to go there. They have weekend trips with small groups. They will pick you from your Hotel in Istanbul on friday night or saturday morning to the diving point and back to your Hotel on Sunday night. You will stay in a clean and quite cheap Hotel in Kesan Town for Saturday night. For the costs you can request an offer from admin@atlantis-scuba.com.

Argos dive centre are based in the harbour at Mecidiye, on the north side of Saros bay. They were, in my experience, very friendly helpful people. The phone number I have for them is 09005333737751, including international dialling code. I hope this helps and that you have a fantastic dive there!
