Hi there,
I'm thinking of doing a Swimming with Sperm Whale trip next year. I know that the best season to see them is from Dec to Apr during the winter months but I can only make the trip in June/July. What are my chances of seeing them? What is the water temperature? Anyone know if I can snorkel/swim with the whales for the whale watching trip or do I need to apply for any special permit. How can I apply for one? Also, any recommendation for any good tour operator. Any other advise is appreciated.
Many thanks .. happy bubbles,
Jovin-

First, Dominica is in the Lesser Antilles so make your post in that section.

Second, I'm not positive but I think they only let you dive with the whales with a special permit, given for academic and research reasons not just for recreational divers.

We did a 4 hour whale watching trip this past June, we didn't see any. When they do see them my understanding is that the boat does not get close.
