Hi all,
One of my co-workers and diving buddies mentioned to me that some divers at Morrison's Quarry found a body over the weekend. Anybody hear anything about this? It wasn't necessarily a diver or anything, no real details.

it was not a diver... as per the report in the papers. It was the annual "Wetnet" so that usually means a lot of drinking and foolishness with the folks.
BTW There is no way the quarry is 140 ft deep -- even if you took a steam shovel down! Max is closer to 125.

babyjane, using ALL CAPS is the online equivalent of shouting. If you keep that up, you'll have more people ignoring you than reding what you have to say.
If using the Shift key is for whatever reason not an option for you, how about just leaving it off altogether. I for one would rather read a post in all small letters than one in all caps.

I PERSONALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR OPINION CONCERNING HOW I WRITE MY MESSAGES. OBVIOUSLY YOU ARE A COMPUTER GEEK...DIDN'T KNOW THAST USING CAPS IS A FORM OF COMPUTER SHOUTING..LIKE I SAID..GEEK. ANYWAY WHILE YOU SIT AND COMPLAIN ABOUT CAPS A FRIEND HAS DIED TRAGICALLY AND I THINK THAT IS A LITTLE MORE IMPORTANT! I WAS JUST SIMPLY REPLYING TO SOME QUESTIONS PEOPLE WERE RAISING CONCERNING THE DEATH ..WELL I WAS UNTIL YOU STUCK YOUR NOSE IN WHERE IT DOESN'T BELONG!

There is no cause to be rude to anyone. Someone already let you know that it's rude and annoying to use all caps, so please stop. Calling people names doesn't get your message across either. So please, I'm asking you nicely, stop using all caps.
And please, I'm asking you nicely, don't call people names. It's very rude.
There seem to be a lack of information on this tragic death.. could you give us some details or let us know where we may find some?

Babyjane,
Although you have lost a friend, you need to remember that this is a diving forum and when anyone found in the water, the question is asked if the person was a diver. This is obviously not the case and I am sorry for your loss, but as divers we do learn from others mistakes. I am very sorry for your loss and the ladies families loss. Take time to heal and take comfort in those around you.

Nobody is being disrespectful, take it as they actualy care that somthing happened to her and are wondering if anyone knows anything, hense the reason for this thread, at least they care and are not just egnoring the fact,
Sorry about your greif but you would pay more respect to here by being nice to others, do you really think she would want you yelling at everyone.
I think you pissed more people off than got them to realize what you were trying to say
Sorry about your friend.

babyjane,
I'm sure that the entire board is sorry for your lose, and that no disrespect was meant by anyone towards your friend. As cobaltbabe noted, this is a diving forum, and diving accidents are often discussed in depth in order to learn from tragedies and hopefully prevent them from occuring again.
Before this thread goes any further, I think it would be wise to close it, as the tragedy in question was not diving-related, apart from the terrible discovery by some recreational divers.
kind regards,
