I spotted a mask at Dema that had no hard frame around the each lens. Even the piece between the eyes was flexible silicone. You could twist it and fold it in half.

I tried it on and seems like it could it anyone from the widest to narrowest of faces.

However, an afterthought of this cool discovery - wouldn't this mask cause distortion in viewing? On a very narrow face like mine, the mask kind wrapped around the face so the lenses were no longer facing straight out, but rather each a little to outside. I didn't notice distortion when I tried it, but maybe underwater would be different.

Any input?

I cannot offer any insight as I too am a new diver, however what you describe is exactly the type of mask I'm looking for to carry in a BC pocket as a backup. Do you recall the brand name?
