Recommendations for Estartit, Spain

I'm going to Estartit, near Barcelona, Spain at the end of the month. I'm looking for recommendations on local dive shops, clubs, resorts that organize day trips/dives to the Medes Island. I'll need to rent all the equipment (I have a diver's license . Any price info would be great.

I'm going to Spain myself too very soon, so I had some looks around on the web too for good diving places. Someone else on this forum recommended Cape Creus, Northern Catalonya. I think it sounded awesome. See the post concerned in this thread:

I think he also posted a website about that place, which is one of the very few websites that I found that is IN ENGLISH (yea!!!!) as well!

Unfortunately I haven't dived anywhere in Spain yet so I can't tell you what it is like... hope to find it out soon!

Well, I'll be in Spain myself in Catalonia in August. I've been going there every summer for 30 years and have never dove the Medes Islands.

I did some research and found some good stuff on this operation:

There are plenty of dive spots in Catalonia, but the Medes Islands are really considered the best. The only complaint seems to be the crowd in August (super high season). Avoid the weekends when all the divers from Gerona and Barcelona show up.

In addition, Diveinn, the European equivalent of LP, is located in L'Estartit. And unlike LP, they are an authorized dealer of all the stuff they sell, compliment of EU rules...
