Good news - No more Oprah soon!

I can't believe my good luck. Oprah is leaving the air in 2011!!! Couldn't come fast enough for me.

So tired of coming home and seeing the wife with the tube on watching Oprah. I hated those giveaway shows which perpetuated extreme consumerism and the occasional need for vinyl-covered goods. No more brain-washing through TV air waves.

Good riddance.

Outside of the Sci Fi channel and some sports - I watch very little TV

Maybe you missed the rest of the announcement. Oprah is terminating her run of the current show, and will then be starting up "OWN", the Oprah Winfrey Network. Not only is she not going away, she's expanding from just content to content and content provider.

It's a lie. She will not be starting her own network. Silky is gonna have Joe Biden "taken care of" and he's gonna pick her as his new veep! I remember when she lost a lot of weight one year, came out on stage pulling a toy wagon with the equivalent amount of animal fat. TV Guide did a cover on her, but put her head on Ann-Margaret's body. That must have been prior to April 1988, the last time I had TV in my home.

Her retiring from her same old show is just a step at expanding...
They'll show re-runs forever;
