Just saw photos from www.lail-alsahara.com showing the slaughter of calderon dolphins in Denmark. A rite of passage . . . . . take a look and form your opinions. Then do what your conscience tells you.

...brutal...it's so sad that stuff like this happens...

...just showed the cove to my students today and told them about the seal hunt in canada...they were in absolute shock...

..then there is the whole shark industry...it's so frustrating how there is a demand for shark fin...especially within the chinese culture. I think it's so stupid to serve shark fin soup at weddings...it's all just for status...

On that similar note...I'm enrolled in a contest to try and win wedding photography and our main competition is serving shark fin soup at their wedding and is proud of it...pls. help us beat them by voting Princess & Nigel - Colour, Cats & Candy.

I think you being in Canada...researching the seal hunt is best done talking to the people who do it and why. I am pretty sure when you get all the facts...not just the ones pouted on the internet or media, you might respect what is taking place.
I could be wrong...but at least you will have both sides of the story to make judgment.

Remember warm fuzzy feelings shouldn't get in the way of the facts...the sign of a good teacher. IMHO

Hey Underwater Ogre...

I agree that there are two sides to everything and we do discuss the different sides - playing devil's advocate definitely makes for better conversation.
In the end, I do leave it to the students to make their own decisions. They are high school kids who are capable of making up their own minds.

It is hard though, to not let feelings get in the way of the facts - especially after watching the Cove.
