This thread has been sanitized and left in it's original format. Let's try this again without all the mudslinging, shall we?

No mud slinging intended, comments purely based on track record.

This sounds like a fun event.. Only thing I would reccommend, is to ACOUSTIC DIVER (who started this post) I followed the link to SCUBA IN THE PARK (http://www.stlawrencecharters.com/scubainthepark/) and man my speakers were a bit loud.. the music almost blew me off my seat ;) . A warning would be nice.
BTW nice website.

This looks like it could be an incredible time. I've marked it on my calendar. If the July 26 trip goes well and I've had a chance to see how long it'll take to drive there, we'll probably be back for this too.
And did someone mention there might be RIBS?

Is it just me, or has their website not been updated since, well, forever? I keep checking back for 'more info' and keep getting only the one teaser page.
BTW someone please PM me or post the exact directions to the 'park' in question - as I'm not from Brockville, although I have managed to find Divers Paradise and gotten the 'scenic tour' doing so. (twice)

Guys,
Is this mostly scuba related events (swap, demos etc.), or are htere going ot be some major diving involved.
I got the clearance from my better half ;) , but before driving from Toronto, I'd like to know if we're diving :)
I saw the $10 Lillie Parsons ferry, which sounds good. Are you guys planning to do some shore diving as well?
Thanks

Admission fee is $5:00. All proceeds wil go to improve the playground equipment on Blockhouse Island.
The best source is the website: www.scubainthepark.com. It should be up-to-date now.
In general the program is as follows:
10 am Padi clean-up dive at the park.
1:00 official opening
1:00-7:00 manufacturer's displays (about 10 will be there)
1:00 - 3:00 dive shuttle to the Lillie ($10 per dive)
There will be a door prize draw about every half hour with a final draw at 7:00 p.m.
The final draw is a dive stay for two at "God's Pocket" on Vancouver Island.
Winner must pay for transportation, all other costs are covered.
Winners MUST be present for at the time of all draws.
There will be kayak tours , kid's snorkeling hunt (4:00-4:30), fashion show, life music, antique dive equipment display, scuba swap tables and above all the S.O.S. display.
Lots to do and see and win and all for a good cause.
SEE YOU THERE!

St. Lawrence Park is located at the west end of Brockville on Hwy # 2 ( King Street ) . Look for a large factory on the northside of the road and a gas station on the southside. You can't miss it.

We are coming up to the 1000 Islands for the first time this weekend to dive Saturday and Sunday. Plus now, we are going to go to "Scuba in the Park"!!
Looking forward to the temps being in the upper 60's with some viz. Remember we are from MD- where you hit a thermocline in our quarries at about 30 feet - goes into the 40s with some miserable viz (5'). Off DE and MD, sometimes the ocean is not much better.
Hope to see some of you there! I will be the one with the big grin on my face!
