Just wondering if any other OFWF members plan on attending the July 30th Rolling Stones Concert in Toronto.

I'm a big Stones fan and can't wait to see them again. I glad they have decided to cross the Atlantic to do this one show as I was starting to suffer from withdrawl!

Rumour has it U2 may show but security doesn't want them. The site will be a no fly zone 48 hours before. Not even the Stones will be able to come in by chopper. No chairs, umbrellas, or anything that can be used as a weapon will be allowed in. You will either donate the stuff to charity in a bin or take it back to your car. 590,000 people in one place has the security folk real nervous.

Should be an awesome concert!

I also hear that blankets aren't allowed. The fear is that people will use them to bounce people on. I think they are going to review that.
And bottled water is allowed but will be opened by security. Reason behind that is a thrown full water bottle could injure a musician if thrown on stage.

Have fun!

Heck if things get as wild as they are suppose to be we will all be camping in the park. WooHoo. Keep an eye out for me. ;) It's like saying, "Your from Canada? Do you know blah blah from WaWa?" Ya right. Rock on.

Uh, no it won't. The airspace above Downsview is right on the approach for Pearson Airport. I can assure you we are not shutting Pearson Down, and if the Stones want to go in by chopper, believe me, they will.

Good day all!

To those who didn't get a chance to make the concert you missed a great one!

Most of the acts were great Ac/Dc, Rush, The Guess Who and ofcourse my beloved Rolling Stones gave us our money worth.

The Stones were a great to see again and it was nice that they played "Nearness of You" which I have seen live over the course of the 20 Stones concerts I have been to. The only disapointment was Justin Timberlake joining the Stones on "Miss You" that sucked!

Toronto rocked and it was a party!

PS: Sorry Cat...didn't make the connection...my fault forgot to take your cell # with me on Tuesday night.

Cheers, Taz!

Tazz that was one great party. I must say I was a little concerned about the crowd size, but not a problem at all. The boys in blue were great and although a heavy presence outside the area I think I saw one the whole night in the crowd.

Angus Young from AC/DC stole the show, Getty Lee hasn't changed since my younger days, and well Mick is just Mick but Keith Richards really seemed to be having fun out there and I thought he got quite emotional when he started to reminisce about TO. A bit of water under that bridge between Keith and TO.

All in all for $21 bucks Canadian that was the best deal of the summer.

I got the chance to meet Keith last summer during the time they were in TO preparing for the tour. He was at my cousins whom he had meant when my cousin owned a bar on the island of Montserrat back when the Stones recorded Steel Wheels. Keith is a really nice guy and he loves Toronto. In fact, since he lives in Connectivut most of the year he travels to TO 2 to 3 times a year to visit friends.

I was glad to seem him do "Happy" but would have preferred that he would have done 'Before They Make Me Run". But heck! It was a party and I'm just glad that I got the chance to participate in Canadian Rock History.

The logistics worked out quite well, the organizers should be congratulated for a wonderful job!

Great show.

Amazingly polite and patient people.
I'm so glad we decided to go after all (my wifes is 4 months pregnant so we were having some doubts ;-)

I hope it gave T.O. enough exposure to bring back the bussiness.

The real questions all of us have is:

a) Did you get any topless shoulder sitting time in? and

b) Do you have pictures?

Saw a few few topless ladies..but didn't get any shots of them. You'll have to settle for these two pics, one of the crowd and one of the stage.

I didn't do any topless time. There is just no way I could compete with the absolutely stunning younger women that were there. Yes I do talk a good game. I did wear my lephard skin bikini though. Pictures? No I don't like having my picture taken. The camera just doesn't love me.

It's a well known fact that all Canadian Scuba-diving women are babes. That's it, that's all.

Maybe some of them. I just don't like camera's and honestly they don't like me. You've seen my picture with OD.

It was kind of hilarious the next day here at work. All we had to do to find who went to the stones concert, was to look for all of the sunburned faces! It was quite a show from what I hear.

Mind you Keith Richards has done it again. From all accounts, he was going to do a song dedicated to all the people who died from SARS, then when he went to dedicate the tune(no idea which one, as I am not a Stones fan.) He said something that really did not make any sense. Something along the lines of, "Here's to everyone that took the hit."

Hope everyone who went had a good time!!

I was actually surprised. Everyone was baked and the party I was with didn't get anything but a tan. And yes we were in the sun.

Somehow, we managed to be around everyone that snuck one in.
50' in front of 302..sweet spot, unless you had to get pizza or go potty.
