Thanks to our friends at REEFMAKERS (the folks that sunk the USNS Vandenberg) we can now start on the Virtual Vandenberg project !

We should have draft version of the 3D model early next year and the virtual dive site up and running by the end of Q1.

If you have images and / or videos and would like to contribute them to this project, please post them in this thread.

very cool!

thanks.

Check out the 3D model we created for the USS Oriskany

Any wreck we should work on for your area?

The vermillion would be a great one, The Hebe is more frequently dove, but not quite as intact. Either one of those would be my top picks as its more important to be oriented on these wrecks at and below 100 feet.

If you want an easier inshore project, Scuba Express most frequently dives the 11 mile artificial reef, (tug boat, barge, and airplane). I know that would be cool to be able to show people a sim of the wreck, although not as complex of a structure.

awesome work you guys do. Is it all CAD, do you actually get sonar on the wrecks.. how does it all work?

nintendo should've hired you guys for that endless oceans scuba game for wii

this stuff looks nice!

For the Wrecks is all CAD.
We need deckplans, images and videos
For natural reefs we need high resolution bathymetry. images and videos.

Our simulator is way better and more realistic than endless oceans :D

Not to split hairs here, but the Vandenberg was not part of the USNS fleet - it was designated USAFS for US Air Force Ship. Every time the ship showed up in the Pacific, Soviet intel ships would be all over the ocean following her.
