Ok - I'm interested. Are there any side mount instructors in SoCal?

Thanks,
Dwayne

I know this won't help the OP with his question about California, but I did utilize a side mount instructor here in Florida. I have had some great mentors who helped, but working with Rob of Chipola Divers really helped me tune my side mount rig for me. I would highly recommend him as a side mount instructor.

That's an interesting question. I wonder how many of us have utilized an instructor?

checkk out his BC, it's an MSR air bladder strapped to his back

I don't know where this guy is based. I like the look the sidemount rig they sell.

Go Side Mount - Steve Bogaerts

I took the Basic Sidemount course with Steve, and was very impressed with his instruction. It was a three day course (cave related), and well worth it.

I have a multiple day/article report on the class on my site. Here's day 1 of the Basic Sidemount class. Additional days are linked at the end of the article.

I know there are instructors on the east coast, florida, mexico and in some other countries. If nothing else you can probably find a mentor in your area. So far I have taught myself and read/watched things online and spent countless hours in the water tweaking and practicing so other options exist.
