Just dove my setup this weekend in the lake.....so sweet-so clean-so easy.

Short heavy Fred T. backplate - 8lbs
Heavy once piece STA - 5.5lbs
Dive Rite Rec Wing
Dive Rite deluxe harness
AL 80 tank

Some divers have complained that the Rec wing is too big for a single tank and that you get a "wrapping"/unbalanced effect. I did not notice this at all.

At the surface, and fully inflated, the Rec wing placed my chin about a foot out of the water. I was not pushed forward or backward but leaning in either direction would make let me fall in that direction.

I did need a little more weight at the end of the dive. Adding a tank band weight on the back end of the tank made me "turtle" a little-I didn't like that. I will definitely requite this ballast in salt water. Perhaps I'll try to loose some more fat.

For the expense of a high end(or even some run of the mill) BCD you can make a BC that fits you to a tee.

This is a perfect way to dive. I couldn't be happier with this setup.
