No, but getting closer. I'll post the defining pic tomorrow if no one gets it.

This was a beautiful wreck and shallow enough that a lot of people could do snorkelling i think. Even the water wasn't too chilly a couple weeks ago. Its a beautiful area and quite rocky as the bottom might indicate. I liked this wreck for its lack of zebras as well.

The rudder gave it away,..it is the Wetman sorry the Wetmore. I think I saw a bunch of you guys on that thing at twenty feet with doubles, drysuits, reels, and enough hoses to strangle an unsuspecting non-DIR diver about three weeks ago:D

Very nice wreck that yes even snorkelers can access.

Don't view this pic if you want to guess first:

This wreck is near Killbear park north of Parry Sound.

You know, its funny you mention that. The Wetmore is my worst dive ever - sucking back exhaust fumes on the way out, 3 foot swells that i was afraid would tear my suit underwater, not weighted well enough so had to grab something and hold on which made me front heavy and fighting that the whole time, we get up to the boat and the surface is much choppier than it was before and there was a guy that was down for another 45 minutes after we got up. Rainy cold day. Diesel and waves making me want to yak. I'll never do that wreck again.

I dove it when i was still a newby to Great Lakes diving - my 3rd cold water dive ever :-))

between trying to figure my boyancy and looking for my buddy that had her own boyancy problems, i did not really see much of the wreck

All i remember is that it was lying on a slope at a really steep angle

Its supposed to be a wreck they take their open water students to up that way. I love that area.

The angle actually isnt that steep on that one. Its a 150 foot ship and you could stand on it and have your head out of the water at the stern end. The bow is in about 30ish feet of water and there was a skidoo at that end. I just used it as a great photo op - lots of light.

Vlada, I think you are thinking of the King. It is just north of the Wetmore and the stern end starts about 20 ft beside Russel Island and goes down to about 90 ft. Kind of looks like a big slide. The Wetmore is just around the corner of the island in about 20 ft.

The Wetmore was a wooden steamer that was towing the King which was a schooner barge. ie. the masts were taken down and it was just towed.
They both went up on the west corner of Russel Island in a storm.

(Wetmore or the King), so can't really mix them up with Atlantic
:)
