I don't know, but it's not just speed; it's also direction.

BTW, A blustery cold front is blowing through Austin right now. Usually it takes 1 1/2 - 2 days for fronts like this to get to Cozumel, so look out on Tuesday.

Wind out of the N and NW is the problem as it blows straight down the channel between the island and the mainland.

Winds out of the NW have the greatest impact and cause waves to build and flow directly at the islands West side.
