On my last trip to the Key I picked up over 20 empty water bottles at just one beach. What a waste!

Anyone who will follow your lead here based on a conscious/rational appeal is probably not the type of person who would simply toss an empty bottle out on the ground.

Perhaps starting with a "don't throw your f***ing trash on the ground" campaign might be a bit more on-point?

:shocked2:

How about "please don't throw your trash on the ground........................................you f***ing pig."

are there fines for littering in FL? There are in TX, and it has helped.

Littering is irrelevant. These bottles get thrown away and garbage barges dump the stuff out at sea anyway.

Don't buy anything in plastic bottles (water, sodas, Gatorade, etc.).

Buy a fountain soda in a paper cup if you need to buy a drink.

If you must buy a bottle, save it, wash it out, and use it some more.

This is a good time to give up soda pop. No more 2 liter plastic bottles!

Giving up sugar-water is a good idea anyway...you might be lucky enough to live as long as the bottle it comes in!

Who still does this?

I would say littering is not irrelevant at all. I can throw a bottle into the storm drain in front of my house. Run down to the creek. Watch it leave the storm drain and float down the Herring Run in the Back River into the Chesapeake Bay. There is nothing stopping it.

Some of the storm drains around here go to the Inner Harbor and they have these float things that sort of contain the trash and they have the boats that run around the harbor and skim the trash off the surface.

I always say there are 2 things I won't pay for in Canada...water and sex!:D
I will try to keep up the good work!
