After a similar thread in my old Carribean forum I thought why not start one here? Asser - is it possible to make this sticky?

Sightings in the last few days:

Carcharninus Longinmanus (Oceanic White Tip) on the Thistlegorm 26 March
Silky Shark on the Thistlegorm 27 March
Manta Ray at Ras Umm Sid 29 March
Manta Ray at Shark/Yolanda 30 March
Bottlenose Dolphins (underwater) 30 March

... to name but a few....

Any updates?

And anyone been down St Johns way recently and if so, what did you see (and were there Longimanus around)?

Thanks,
John

haven't heard from my mate who is on safari in the south at the moment but for sure he has seen silkies on his last safari.

No reports of longimanus in sharm since december last year.

Mantas in residence at the gardens in Sharm though! 2 yesterday :D

ooooh, silkies would be nice!

I hope longimanus turns up for my trip.

Of course some Mantas would be nice too - have only ever seen two, in the distance, 3 years ago so a close encounter would be most welcome. Irrespective, diving in the red sea is always lovely and I really can't wait...

I'll post up what I've seen once I'm back (start of June).

Thx,
J
