LewisEvans, Reefseal, a fellow ProjectDEEPer and I dove the Gloucester Breakwater today. Got in the water about noon. Temp ranged from 43*F at the surface to 41*F at the bottom. Max depth that I got was 19', Reefseal got 21' - maybe he stuck his comp further into the sand than me :)

Viz was variable. 10-15' in some places, but for most of the dive was in the 20-25' range.

Dive time was variable for all members. The two wetsuit divers called it around 30-45 minutes, Reefseal and I logged 61 minutes.

We dove the harbor side of the breakwater, lots of huge boulders and really great cracks with critters. Also a lot of trash. LewisEvans found a lumpfish. It was a big guy, almost a foot long (pic attached). Very exciting. Lots of nudibranchs and a decent sized winter flounder.

Anyone know good Lumpfish recipes? If it had 3 eyes, it would look like the fish Lisa Simpson gives Montgomery Burns to eat on one of the simpsons episodes.

Glad you guys had a good dive. Where is the lot to park?

There is a parking lot right at the breakwater with about 10 spaces. The parking lot is run by Mass Audubon and they charge 5 bucks for parking starting on Memorial Day.
