hi all

i can get a suunto viper here in ireland for 250 euros. how much would it be in sharm?

also i have a choice between the suunto viper or the zoop

which one do u think is the best?

im kinda thinking of going with the viper tho so whats ur thoughts on it? im an o w diver with 40 dives,i will be doing nirtox course when i get to sharm, ive no intention of doing decommpression diving at least for the next 2 years

thanks for any advice

Likely to be similar price if not more in sharm.

If you need a gauge mode then go vyper. Or if you want a basic computer try to get a gecko. Cheaper and does a good job.

thank you string, i can buy the vyper here for 250 euros i went to beyond limits website and they want 350 no contest so

can u explain to me what the differance is with 30sec sampling for profiling and less than 30 secs for sampling is all about

Profile sampling refers to the depth/time data that the computer saves during the dive. A shorter sampling interval, such as 10 seconds, means that more data points are collected during a given dive. Essentially, this provides better resolution of your depth/time data for the dive when you review the dive in "Memory" mode or download the profile to your PC. The only disadvantage to setting a shorter sampling interval relates to the limited memory capacity of a dive computer. Typically, once the memory is filled up, old dive data is over-written by new dive data. This may make a difference if you tend to do lots of dives in-between PC downloads.

AFAIK, the Vyper can be set to sample at intervals of 10, 30, and 60 seconds. I leave mine set for 30 seconds.

Hope this helps...

Beyond Limits is a.k.a. "Beyond Means" - possibly the most expensive dive shop ive seen in the world!

Sample rate is as described, its entirely to do with downloaded dives. Only 30 seconds it takes a recording of depth/time every 30 seconds and draws a graph. With 10 seconds it does that every 10.

30s will give a smoother but less accurate graph.

I keep mine on 10.

Which brings into attention a very interesting question; is that's why your computer died after 8 years/3000 dives? :)

Lower sample rate means more date and eventually more processing.

If you're contacting Suunto for your old computer please ask them about it and keep us updated.

8 years/3000 dives thats a lot of use,, thanks for all the advice everyone
