Ok, there is a multitude of new gear out there for newbie. Here's a fairly simple question. Does anyone know the most popular brand/make of bcd's and what sort of cost do they come in at.
I am going to be diving in cold water constantly, Scotland is not the warmest of places and would really like to start narrowing down what gear to choose. Have got an idea of what drysuit to buy, but bcd's have either got more gadgets than James Bond or are ridiculously priced.

Cold Water! Your a good man. Ok here is my suggestions.

Back Plate and Harness (its one size fits all), and depending on who you get you BP from its not too expensive. Dont worry about the "one size fits all" its really a custom fit.

Good luck

I totally agree, if you buy the BP+W now it will save you from buying one later.
