Course Information
Class and pool
Open Water (“check out”) dives at Lake Mead
Need to be able to swim/tread water
Skills Review/Evaluation required

Methods of Instruction
Self-Study Course (read the Open Water book on own time, fill-in-the-blank reviews)
Watch Video/DVD (at home/own time)
Classroom:
Review self-study (knowledge reviews), elaborate & discuss, RDP review
Multiple Choice Quizzes (4) four
Final Exam
Pool: (5) Five pool dives over (3) three sessions
Lake: (4) dives over (2) two sessions

Course Description
Once you complete the paperwork (homework) and master the skills you will become a certified diver and be able to SCUBA dive on your next exotic vacation destination!!!

Course Objectives
With a passionate diver and dedicated professional instructor, become a a SCUBA diver that understands & learns:
* Diving is FUN, relaxing and potentially theraputive for work-related stress
Basic concepts of good diving practices/ risks and dangers of diving
Ability to control buoyancy underwater/ Understands weighting
Nitrogen loading concerns and respect for the NDL table
How to continue with further dive training -- it NEVER ends

Course Policies
Show up on time -- please have the courtesy to call me or the store if you are not coming or are running late
Keep your cellular phones off or on vibrate
Children or significant others are welcome
Food & drink are fine to bring to class
No alcohol or iliicit drugs allowed during Open Water dives

The above items are included in a package price and is only charged one time for if you are signed up for a class for the duration of that class.
Miscellaneous: swimsuit, towels, water, snacks, sunsreen

Grading
* This is NOT a PASS/FAIL course.......HOWEVER.....
Certain skills MUST be mastered and necessary paperwork must be completed in order to certify you as a diver
Gross exhibitions of difficulty may be cause for additional training

Attendance Policy
Schedule as posted is very tight
Missing one session may exclude you from the remainder because of
standards
If you you are coming late, how late? maybe can still participate -- Call me!!!
If miss one classroom can you attend pool session -- it depends -- Call Me!!
Make up sessions -- need to be scheduied, if available, and PAID for
