Seeking advice:Filet knife and sheath care

I have a nice filet knife that I hope to keep for some time. Should I oil the blade and/or sheath for protection? In the past I've just had cheap knives that I didn't mind replacing. How do you care for your filet knife and leather sheath after a dive trip?

For a leather sheath, mineral oil will work nicely & it's even edible [the mineral oil, not the sheath];) Same for the blade. Make sure the sheath is dry before storing the critter for any amount of time.
