its ridiculous... you'd think there's Got to be some DIY workaround with a quick trip to a Radioshack or something...

I recently bought a SUBGEAR console. It has a built in dive computer which I thought I'd use as a backup to the Cressi - but I'll be damned if it doesn't have built-in IRdA infrared which interfaces instantly with any $8 IRdA USB adapter, and the dive software is FREE from UWATEC/SCUBAPRO. It was totally painless to grab the info off it and even set all of its options via the FREE software. Did I mention it's FREE? :)

Screw this Cressi crap - I'm going to get that cheapo cable so I can get all my old dive data off it, then never use it again for data gathering.
