Positively suprised by the island , climate and scenery. Next time we will be go diving on the islands as there are a couple of nature reserves out there (Ustica). We will stay longer than a week too, for sure.

I just returned from Italy and spent 4 days on Ustica, two days of which diving. Sensational. Underwater volcanic landscape is gorgeous and viz is 75-100 ft. Saw giant grouper, barricuda, moray eel, shrimp (inside caves), octopi, among others. The Italian people are the friendliest. The dive operations are highly professional. On land life in Ustica is magical--the place is quaint and quiet and the food is fantastic.
Don't tell anyone about this secret gem! ;-)
