Hello

Well! I guess the sinking of a war time ship wreck in Kingston is now part of our wishfull thinking list. I never give up, what do you all think about an underwater observatory placed on the bottom of the St Lawrence near a wreck were divers can come up into, to chat and rest. This project has been on my mind for some time. The last one I visited was off of St Annes New Brunswick were the diving community created and welded an observatory directly on top of a ship wreck they sank to creat an artificial reef.

Sounds pretty cool.. A neat idea.. but would the air be kept fresh? Wouldn't it get awefully stale in a hurry?

I think it would be a great idea, of course, if planned properly, it wouldn't be difficult to take a spare 80 cu with you to replenish the air within the observatory. I saw something close to this in Blue Groto in FL. They actually ran an air line from the surface.

Sounds good idea are you talking about something like in Flintkote Quarry in Thedford Mines. There all you have is a valve on top t let stale air out. Hoever i woulnd't stay there for 20 minutes breathing that air...
A LDS from over there installed it if you have any questions, I think it was plongee Capitale not sure though.

Hi

Yes! that design is fine and I would think that if we could have it sunk just off off of some ones shore line were they could act as caretakers for it and allow an air inlet to be installed to flow fresh air in . The best model and design I have in my design archive has a large check valve on the top constantly allowing just enough air to burp out keep it fresh as fresh air is pumped in. I will try and post some photographs.

This does sound like a cool idea. You'll have to keep us in the loop as to your progress.
