Poked through the archives and didn't see any specific info. about people's observations of weather in July. I saw several graphs etc... that showed a pretty low rainfall total which is encouraging. I'm headed down the 24th of July and right now the 15 day shows partly/mostly cloudy with 40-60% chance of thunderstorms most days.

Is this typical? Is it similar to the SE US where you can expect an afternoon thunder storm and some rain through the night?

We're staying at Deep Blue so probably won't get to town too much, I'd like to check out the Jade Seahorse, anything else I should put on my must see list?

While I am no expert on Roatan I do live in Savannah. From what I have come across over the years is the islands are kind of like here. Pretty much everyday our forecast says chance of thunderstorms and a percentage of rain. The last two days we have had rain over most of the area but usually it is pop up thunderstorms that might hit one side of town and miss the other.
Have fun... we will be returning from Roatan on the 24th.

Now i am on Roatan and not Utila so it may be different but July is normally pretty dry with some occasional thunderstorms peeking out now and then but not the type of all day stuff often seen in the winter, Now last July was wetter than i have seen in years and we did have some day long stuff but historically that is not normal so hopefully all will be fine. Just don't get jazzed about a T-storm comming in to cool things down and drop th humidity, usually just wets the ground so the water evaporates and then warms you from the bottum up while the sun heats from the top down when it peeks out again
