Hi
Im quiet new to diving, i learnt with padi. im looking at buying a bcd for some travel aswell as using it here in cornwall.
I saw the Oceanic islander 2 BCD and it looks pretty good, but ive no idea what it will be like diving in as when you hire kit, you get what they have...
So does anyone know if this is any good, it seems ot have alot of good reviews.
Thanks Jon

For the price I rather get a zeagle scout.
Btw, are you mostly diving in cold waters or warm?
Cus if you are mostly diving cold n use a dry suit I would rather use a bp/w like this:
AL back plate w/ Oxycheq Hog Harness & Oxycheq Mach V wing [DROCpkg] - $375.00 : Cave Adventurers!, We will NOT be undersold!!! (http://caveadventurers.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43_74&products_id=692)

I have the Reef Rider which is Areis' clone of the Islander. It's a well built, light, back inflate travel BC. Claims to have 32lbs of lift. I think that's optimistic. Good for warm water. You could probaby get 20 lbs all the weight pockets. (2 on the tank band and 2 releasable pockets.)

Great BC that works well. Does not have huge pockets for weights. My wife now dives with it.

John,
I have this BC as well I use it when I travel to tropical destinations, its a little to light for the cold water of the NE US . For colder water dives when I am in my drysuit I use a Hollis BP/W setup.
Good luck in your search,
