When I took Fundies, I was taught to:
a. Put SMB together with spool;
b. OK the team prior to inflating;
c. Inflate the bag;
d. Check to make sure nothing was above me (i.e., "blue hands"); and
e. Release the bag. (At least I think that was the sequence and is not relevant for the question.)
Anyway, why step "d"? Since I've just OK'd the team, why isn't the team checking to make sure nothing is above me -- afterall, they are looking at me and it is very easy for them to look above me.
I was doing some tractor work yesterday and started thinking funny thoughts which came to this.
